THURSDAY 29th APRIL 1909 – Celtic might have won the League tonight, but they lost to Hibs at Easter Road. It is hardly surprising considering that they have now played 7 games in 11 days. They are exhausted, but they will have one last chance tomorrow night if they beat Hamilton Accies at Douglas Park. If they lose, the title will go to Dundee. It is not clear what will happen if they draw, but it will probably be a play-off as in 1905.
SATURDAY 29th APRIL 1922 – In the most dramatic of circumstances and in the midst of serious rioting at half time, Celtic draw with Morton at Cappielow and this is enough to win the Scottish League Championship, because Rangers also draw with Clyde. Celtic’s goal was late, scored by Andy McAtee, and the famous Shaw, McNair and Dodds had to work hard to save Celtic from Morton’s late onslaught. Morton were no mean team, for they had won the Scottish Cup a fortnight ago.
SATURDAY 29th APRIL 1967 – Two goals either side of half time from Willie Wallace are enough to win Celtic’s 19th Scottish Cup at Hampden before 126,102 fans. Celtic fans are upbeat for their team have just come back from Prague in midweek having reached the European Cup Final. Aberdeen are a good side but claim that they are handicapped by the absence of their manager Eddie Turnbull who takes ill with food poisoning at the Gleneagles Hotel.

SUNDAY 29th APRIL 2001 – Celtic travel to Ibrox and inflict an emphatic 3-0 defeat on Rangers. Lubo Moravcik scores two and Henrik Larsson the other one. Joyful Celtic supporters sing a song about the lack of trophies at Ibrox along the lines of “The poor Teddy Bears, they have no silver ware, and they need no Mr Sheen, for they have nothing to clean!”
29th April 2001, Rangers 0:3 Celtic.

SUNDAY 29th APRIL 2012 – Fun and games at Celtic Park today, as champions Celtic beat bankrupt Rangers 3-0 with goals from Charlie Mulgrew, Kris Commons and Gary Hooper. Tombstones and “Rot in Hell” flags are common, and when the Rangers fans sing “We’re Rangers till we die”, the Celtic fans counter by singing “You’re Rangers till July”.
